Edit directly in the Block<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

1. In the WordPress dashboard, under Pages<\/strong>, locate the page you need to update, hover and click Edit<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Find the text you wish to edit. Click in that block and edit the text. You can type new text, delete existing text, or modify the content as needed. WordPress provides standard text editing features like bold, italic, alignment, and more in the block toolbar located above the block.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Publish<\/strong> or Save<\/strong> in the upper-right corner of the page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Locating your block with the Document Overview<\/span> button<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

1. If you have an issue selecting the correct block, you can click the Document Overview button on the left to see all the elements on your page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Next, look for the block that contains the text you want to edit. Click inside the block to edit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Edit the text as described above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Publish<\/strong> or Save<\/strong> in the upper-right corner of the page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Highlighting a heading<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Headings can be formatted with three ASU styles: Black highlight with white text, gold highlight with black text and white highlight with black text (to be used on dark backgrounds). These are the only three combinations currently available in the ASU Unity Design System (UDS).<\/p>\n\n\n

\n\n

UDS highlights may only be applied headings<\/strong>, not paragraph text.<\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n

  1. Create a heading.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Select all or part of the heading text to be highlighted.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Click the “More” button (carrot) in the block toolbar and select the desired highlight from the bottom of the menu.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Highlights work like a switch.<\/strong> To add a highlight, select text and add it. To remove a highlight, select the text again and click the same highlight option remove it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Highlights do not interchange, they overlap.<\/strong> If you add a gold highlight then decide to change it to black, first remove the gold highlight and then add the black.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Remove a highlight before editing highlighted text<\/strong>. To edit text that already has a highlight, you need to remove the highlight first, then edit, then reapply the highlight. If you edit highlighted text, the highlight gets applied to individual letters, and letter spacing becomes erratic.<\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n

    Adding\/removing links in text<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
      \n
    1. To create a hyperlink with text, select the text you want to link.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Click on the link icon in the block toolbar.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Copy\/paste the URL (web address) you want to link to (including https:\/\/) and press Enter – or click on the arrow – to apply.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n

      WordPress feature<\/strong>: If you want to link to another page in your website, you can start typing the name of the page in the link field and WordPress will find it and you may select it. This is only true for published pages. Drafts will not appear as link options.<\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n

      4. To remove a link, click on the Remove link icon in the toolbar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      After making your edits, you can preview how your changes will look by clicking the Preview<\/strong> button at the top-right corner of the editor. This allows you to see how your content will appear to visitors before publishing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Once you’re satisfied with your edits, click the Save draft<\/strong> button to save your changes as a draft, or click the Publish<\/strong> button to make your changes live on your website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
