Advanced Custom Fields Pro
The Pitchfork theme requires the use of an additional plugin called Advanced Custom Fields Pro in order to deliver some of the functionality of the ASU global header and footer. Additionally, the additional blocks found in the accompanying plugin Pitchfork Blocks also requires ACF Pro to be active on the site.
Upon the initial activation of the theme, you should receive a message at the top of the screen letting you know that the plugin is missing or needs to be activated.

- Within most WordPress hosting environments, the prompts at the top of the screen will allow you to download and activate the plugin just by clicking the correct link in the admin notice.
- Pantheon users will need to deploy the ACF Pro plugin manually into the container and make the plugin available to the LIVE environment in order to proceed.
Cost
Advanced Custom Fields Pro is a licensed “premium” plugin which incurs a cost annually depending on the number of sites upon which you need it installed.
