Pitchfork: Page Templates

Patterns within this category represent designs for a full page of content. Deploy to an empty page and configure as necessary.

Page: Two-column layout

A whole-page pattern that includes a hero, a main content area and room for additional details or secondary navigation on the right side of the page.

Details

  • Be sure to take advantage of settings like the lead paragraph format and the content separator to allow space for your readers who are attempting to scan the page for information.
  • Use the Document → Outline section in the block editor to keep track of the document structure of your page.
  • The secondary column contains examples of formatting that can be applied to native blocks to display “sidebar” content.

Page: Directory

A whole page pattern dedicated to building a properly formatted directory of people. Used often within the context of a faculty or lab website. Also appropriate for larger scale projects which need to displaying contributors from different departments and universities.

This pattern is not appropriate for displaying lists of faculty associated with a school or degree program. Directories for that purpose should instead use the Web Directory block deployed to an otherwise blank page.

Features

  • Includes the two smaller examples of directory patterns found within the Pitchfork: Content Section pattern category. See the content section examples for further details.
  • All included sections contain pairs of uds/profile-manual and uds/profile-data blocks. Duplicate the correct block for your content.
  • Sections of content within the page can be duplicated as needed to include additional people “categories.”
