Additional ASU header options

The Pitchfork theme options panel contains additional tools for fine-tuning the behavior of the site's header.

The v1.6 release of the Pitchfork theme introduced the Pitchfork General Settings panel within the WordPress admin. This page now contains a few theme options that were previously located in the customizer. You can locate this page at the following URL within your site.

/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=pitchfork-settings

Submitting your site to ASU analytics

The theme options panel here provides a reminder to all site administrators that the site will automatically submit its data to the ASU “universal” tracking ID as long as the assigned domain of the site is within the asu.edu domain name.

Additional analytics services

The UDS: Options – Analytics panel contains three fields for quickly enabling an additional GTM container, a separate GA tracking ID and/or an instance of Hotjar.

  • For all three fields in this section, the theme will automatically load and required code in the header to enable these options if there is an ID present in the field.
  • All that is needed for data entry are the GTM ID, GA tracking ID or the Site ID, respectively.

Other options

The remaining options on this page should only be changed under very specific circumstances. The controls for the remaining options on the page are all set to the ASU brand standard default configuration for a website. A general description of some of the provided functionality follows below for clarity.

  • The enhanced multisite option provides further options to allow all sites in a multisite configuration to behave as if they belonged to one big site.
  • The ASU logo override and partner logo options require additional edits to be made in a child theme for the specific site in question in order for the header to continue to work correctly.
