Pitchfork 2.7.0 Release

The 2.7 release of the Pitchfork theme focuses on delivering some improvements to search and pagination experiences as well as updating the header and footer to the latest release from UDS.

We’re excited to roll out Pitchfork v2.7.0 which is available as of today. This release focuses updating the theme with evolving UDS standards while continuing to refine the authoring and front-end experience in WordPress. You’ll find some improvements to search and pagination experiences within the theme.

Unity package updates

The global header and footer have been updated to the latest versions from Unity:

  • unity-bootstrap-package: 1.30.3 → 1.36.3
  • component-header-footer: 1.1.1 → 1.3.2

Improved search experience

We’ve made several enhancements to the templates and blocks that power the native search experience within a WordPress site.

  • Updated markup and styling for the native WordPress search form and results template
  • Added a search block pattern to the pattern library for easy deployment on any page\
  • Added UDS-compliant styling to the core/pagination and core/search blocks.
  • Limited block settings to only support configurations consistent with the brand standards.
  • Updated markup in searchform.php and search.php

Bug fixes

  • Corrected an issue where global header menus expanded on hover by default
  • Applied a temporary fix for visited link styling within the global header.
