The Fulton Schools of Engineering will soon begin a required transition of our websites from WordPress to the university‑supported Drupal platform, and Enterprise Technology’s website product, Webspark. This change is a mandate from Arizona State University to consolidate all ASU websites within a unified, centrally managed environment to ensure legal compliance, enhance security and enable timely enterprise‑level response when required.
There is an accelerated timeline for completing this work. We know that website updates play an important role in how you share your work, support students and communicate with your communities. Our goal is to make this transition as smooth and predictable as possible.
ASU’s Enterprise Technology team, along with our hosting provider Acquia, will perform the technical migration of your website (or websites) and its content. The Fulton Schools Web Services team will conduct site reviews and communicate with site owners consistently through completion.
What you need to know now
- No immediate action is required.
- We are in the process of determining a migration timeline and your site will continue to function as usual.
- We will share a migration timeline as soon as it is finalized. Based on the university’s schedule, we expect the first faculty and lab sites to begin moving in the next few weeks.
- Each site will have a brief content‑freeze period during the migration to ensure all content transfers correctly.
Training and support will be available
The Fulton Schools Web Services team will offer guidance and provide training resources to learn the basics of Drupal and Webspark after your site moves.
What’s next
Over the coming weeks, we will share:
- A migration timeline.
- A dedicated web page with FAQs and support resources.
- Information about training resources and support office hours.
We recognize that change of this scale can feel disruptive, especially for those who maintain active faculty or lab sites. Our team is committed to communicating often and supporting you throughout the process.
If you have immediate questions, feel free to reach out to the Fulton Schools Web Services Manager, Jenn Jurewicz at [email protected].
